Brazilian Football Tackles Match-Fixing with Workshops
  • Integrity workshops equip participants with critical knowledge on identifying and countering match-fixing and fraud.
  • Collaborative efforts with multiple teams reinforce compliance and responsible gambling practices.
  • The proactive strategy aligns with evolving regulations and emphasizes sports integrity across various levels.

Esportes da Sorte and Sportradar have initiated comprehensive integrity training workshops at both CearƔ and NƔutico football clubs. These workshops are designed to educate players and staff on how to prevent match-fixing and manipulation in sports. Among the topics discussed were the definitions of match-fixing, various types of fraud, the accompanying legal risks, and the necessary responses when unusual or suspicious activities are detected.

Participants in these sessions spanned multiple teams, including men's, women's, and under-20 squads. This broad inclusion ensures that the message of maintaining sports integrity reaches every level of the clubs' operations. CearĆ” Football Executive Lucas Drubscky emphasized the club's dedication to proactive measures in preserving the reputation of the sport.

Sportradar, a key partner in this initiative, plays a crucial role in monitoring over 10,000 matches each year in Brazil, working in close collaboration with the Brazilian Football Confederation and 17 state federations. This robust monitoring mechanism supports a broader integrity strategy, which is further reinforced by Esportes Gaming Brasil operating under Brazil's SPA/MF license.

Looking ahead, future workshops are planned with prominent teams such as Corinthians and FerroviƔria, underlining the ongoing commitment to enhancing sports integrity across Brazilian football.
