Cambodia's monetary unit is the riel (KHR). However, the United States dollar (USD) is also widely used in this Southeastern Asian country. There are two versions of this Cambodian currency; the first was used between 1953 and 1975. The second version of the riel came into being in 1980, two years after Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia. It is issued by the National Bank of Cambodia in various coin and banknote denominations.
Many mobile casinos in the region accept the riel, so gamblers on the go will find it easy and convenient to make deposits and withdrawals in the Cambodian currency.
