Mobile blackjack turns your phone or tablet into a card table you can open anywhere. Setting it up properly takes a few minutes, and it pays off: your account is safer, the game runs smoothly and the battery lasts longer. This guide goes through each step on iPhone and Android.
1. Create an account
Start by registering at a reputable, licensed mobile casino. The steps are much the same everywhere:
- Open the app or mobile site and tap Register or Sign up.
- Choose how to register: by email (the most secure), by phone number (the fastest to verify) or, at some casinos, through a Google or Facebook account.
- Enter your details: a unique username, a strong password with numbers and symbols, your email address for recovery, your date of birth for age checks, and your country, which decides the licence that applies to you.
- Verify the account: follow the link in the email or enter the SMS code.
- Add security: turn on two-factor authentication (2FA), set up biometric login (Face ID or fingerprint) if offered, and choose a PIN for quick access.
Our guide on creating a mobile casino account covers registration and identity checks in more detail.
2. Install the casino app
On iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Search for the casino's app by name.
- Tap Get and wait for it to install.
On Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for the casino's app by name.
- Tap Install and allow it to download.
Store apps are only available where the casino holds a licence for your country. Elsewhere, the casino's mobile site works in your browser, and on Android some casinos offer an APK file from their own site. Our Android vs iPhone guide explains the difference.
App or mobile browser?
- Performance: apps are built for the phone and usually run smoother than a browser tab.
- Extras: some apps add personal promotions, loyalty features and push notifications for new games or events.
- Security: apps can add biometric login and their own security layers. A mobile site is fine too, as long as the address starts with https.
3. Configure the settings
Open the Settings or Options menu after you sign in.
Graphics
Start on Auto, which picks a level for your device. High turns on full animations and effects but uses more battery and data. Medium balances the two. Low keeps effects to a minimum and saves the most battery.
Sound
Game sounds such as card shuffling and chip clicks add realism, and a dealer voice adds atmosphere. Background music is optional and drains the battery faster. Keep sounds for wins and bonuses on if you do not want to miss them.
Notifications
- Account alerts: keep these on. They warn you about logins and confirm withdrawals.
- Game updates: new features and planned maintenance.
- Tournament reminders: start times and deadlines, if you play them.
- Bonus and marketing messages: optional. Turn them off if they tempt you to play more than you planned.
4. Check the app's permissions
Needed:
- Internet access: for every game function.
- Storage: to save settings and progress.
- Network status: to handle a dropped connection.
Optional:
- Notifications: alerts and promotions.
- Camera: some live dealer features.
- Microphone: voice chat in multiplayer modes.
- Location: some casinos use it to confirm you are in a country they are licensed for.
Where to change them: on iPhone, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, or scroll to the app in Settings; notifications are under Settings, then Notifications. On Android, go to Settings, then Apps, choose the app and open Permissions; the Permission manager shows every app at once.
5. Find your way round the casino
- Game lobby: where you find the casino games, sorted into categories.
- Cashier: deposits, withdrawals and your transaction history. Pick a secure payment method and follow the steps.
- Account settings: your profile, deposit and betting limits, sound and display, and messages.
Finding blackjack
- Search: type "blackjack" in the lobby search to see every version the casino offers.
- Categories: look under Table Games or Card Games.
- Filters: some lobbies filter by game type or studio.
