Poker is the world-renowned card game known for its unique combination of luck, strategy, and psychology. It is one of the most popular casino card games played in Kenya to date. The main objective of poker is to have the strongest hand and to win the pot (the money or chips bet by the players).
The standard poker game in Kenya is played with five cards, which are dealt from a deck of 52 cards. The game is usually composed of two phases: pre-flop and post-flop. In the pre-flop phase, players are dealt cards and can choose to either call (match the table bet) or raise (increase the bet). After all players have acted, the post-flop phase begins and a series of betting rounds follow. The rounds start with the player to the left of the dealer button, and each player can choose to check, bet or fold.
At the end of the last round of betting, the remaining players must show their hands in a showdown. The player with the strongest combination of cards wins the pot.
