Punto Banco is a fast-paced card game that's easy to learn. The game is played between two hands—the ‘Player’ and the ‘Banker’. Players start by placing bets, which can be on the player hand to win, the banker hand to win, or a tie. Two cards are then dealt to both the banker and player. Each hand is worth a certain number of points, with the numbers 10, Jacks, Queens and Kings all worth zero points. The Ace card is worth one point. The highest possible hand is 9.
After the two cards are dealt, the banker and the player decide if they want to take additional cards. The banker will draw a third card if the player has a score of 0 to 5, and the player will draw a third card if the banker has a score of 0 to 4. If the player or banker has a 6 or a 7, both will stand. The winning hand is the one that has the total value closest to 9.
