The Isle of Man sits 50 km from Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. Heading north to the south of the 22-km island reveals mountain ranges with valleys in between. The north is flat and the south is rocky, and rivers are a huge part of the island's geography. The east coast is the capital, Douglas, which is also the commercial center of the island.
The temperature of the island is cool in summer and mild in winter. Smaller islets also exist near the island. People visit the island for bird watching, walking, and fishing.
