Video Poker is a popular form of poker, where players compete with a machine rather than with other players. It is played on a computerized machine with a graphical display and mimics a regular 5-card draw poker. The game starts with the player placing a wager, which is the amount of money that will be bet on any game. The player is then given five cards and has the option to hold or discard any of the cards. After the decisions have been made, the machine will replace all discarded cards with new ones and the final hand of the player will be evaluated.
If the player has at least a pair of jacks, they will win a payout. The payout amounts vary depending on the final hand the player has. In most Video Poker games, two pairs, three of a kind, a straight, a flush, a full house, four of a kind, a straight flush, and a royal flush will give the player the highest payouts. The payout amount is determined by the casino.
