Three Card Poker, one of the most entertaining casino games available in Mauritius, is an adaptation of the classic 5-card poker game. In it, players place their bets against the dealer and attempt to create the highest ranked hand. The game, which is traditionally played on a blackjack-style table, is a variation of an ancient game, Primero, and is one of the more popular card games in the casinos of Mauritius.
In the case of Three Card Poker, the players' goal is to beat the dealer's hand and collect a payout of up to 50:1, depending on the game variant. In order to determine the winner of the hand, both the player and the dealer must compare their hands, starting with the highest card.
To begin the game, the player must place an ante bet. Depending on the game variant this can range from as little as $1 to as much as $100. After the ante bet is placed, the dealer will deal three cards to each player, face-down. The players will then have to look at their cards and decide whether they want to raise or fold.
If the player chooses to raise, they will have to place an additional bet, which will be equal to the ante bet. Once the player has made their decision, the dealer will flip over their cards. If the player’s hand is higher than the dealer’s, the player will receive a payout that is equal to the ante and the raise bets.
