Texas Holdem is a version of the card game of poker which is the most widely played of all the poker variations in Thailand. Played with a standard 52-card deck, the object of the game is to have the highest ranking 5-card poker hand at the end of the game when all of the players’ hands are revealed. In Texas Holdem, players are each dealt two face-down cards, “hole” cards, which are their own to keep and use during the game. After a round of betting, three community cards are dealt face-up which any of the players can use to put together the best 5-card hand. Afterwards, another round of betting takes place, and a fourth community card is dealt face-up, again followed by a round of betting, before the final community card is dealt face-up, which is followed by the last round of betting. The player with the best 5-card hand is then declared the winner of the pot.
