Texas Holdem, sometimes referred to as āHoldemā, is one of the most popular variants of the card game of poker, and a game of skill and strategy. Rules of the game vary, but generally speaking, each game is played with two to ten players competing against the dealer. The objective of the game is to create the most valuable five-card hand by using two hole cards and five community cards.
At the beginning of each game, players must make an initial bet, known as the ante. Players are then dealt two face-down cards, then the dealer deals three community cards face-up on the table, also known as the flop. Players then have the option to raise or fold. After the betting is finished, the dealer deals two more community cards face-up, which are known as the turn and the river. Players then use the seven cards to form the best five-card hand. The best hand wins the pot.
