Sic Bo is a dice game that’s very popular in Laos and other countries in Southeast Asia. It is also known as Hi-Lo, Big and Small, and Dai Siu. The game is played with three dice and a table with several betting options. The player will place a bet on a specific outcome and the dice will be rolled. Depending on the outcome, the player will either win or lose the bet.
The game is fairly simple to play and requires no skill or strategy. All the player has to do is look at the table and select the bet he or she would like to make. The different betting options include:
Big/Small: This is the most popular bet in Sic Bo. Players can wager on the total of the three dice being either “big” (11-17) or “small” (4-10).
Specific Doubles: This bet is on doubles, or the same number on two of the dice. For example, if a player bets on double 5s, he would win if two of the dice come up showing 5.
Specific Triple: This bet is on three of a kind, or the same number on all three dice. For example, if a player bets on a triple 6s, he would win if all three dice come up showing 6.
Any Triple: This bet is on any three of a kind, or the same number on all three dice regardless of the number.
Any Double: This bet is on any double, or the same number on two of the dice regardless of the number.
Single Number: This bet is on any one of the three dice. If the dice lands on a number the player has bet on, he would win.
Four or 17: This is a bet on either a total of 4 (1-1-2) or 17 (6-6-5).
