Punto Banco is a card-based casino game that is popular in Romania and other countries. The game is also known as Baccarat and is played between two competitors, the "banker" and the "player".
In this game, players are dealt two cards each; one for the banker and one for the player. The objective of the game is to draw a card combination which totals nine or closest to nine. If the total of two cards exceeds nine, ten points is deducted from the combination. For example, if a player has two cards of 8, then the total is 16. After deducting 10 points, the total is 6. Similarly, if the player has two cards of 6 and 7, then the total is 13. In this case, three points are deducted, resulting in a total score of 4. The player who has the highest score between the banker and the player wins the round.
The game is played in rounds, with each round having an equal amount of bets placed from two to four players. The players can either bet on the banker, the player, or a tie. The game is concluded at the end of a round when all bets have been placed.
