Punto Banco is a popular card game found in many Filipino mobile casinos, also known as Baccarat. It is played with 8 decks of cards, without the jokers, and the goal is to get as close to the number 9 as possible. The game begins with the Punto (player) and Banco (banker) placing an initial bet. Both players are then given two cards each, which are placed face-up in front of them on the table.
The game consists of three possible outcomes: the Punto can win, the Banco can win or the cards can lead to a draw (tie). The higher total wins the game. If the Punto or Banco receives 8 or 9 on the initial draw, they both stand and the game ends. If they both have a score of 6 or 7, the Punto stands and the Banco must draw a third card.
If the Punto stands, the Banco must draw if their score is lower than 5. If the Punto draws a third card, their score dictates whether the Banco must draw. For example, if the Punto draws an 8, the Banco must draw if their score is 0-2, and the Punto must stand if the Banco's score is 3-7.
