Punto Banco, also known as Baccarat, is a popular card game in Morocco and other parts of the world. In Punto Banco, the objective is to bet on which of the two hands dealt on the table will have a higher numerical value. This game is also known as 'Player' and 'Banker'. Players can bet on either the Player, the Banker, or a draw.
The game begins with two cards dealt to both the Player and the Banker. Based on the initial score, a third card may be dealt. The aim of the game is to get a score as close to 9 as possible. The score of each hand is determined by adding the values of the cards together and taking only the last digit of the total.
For example, if the Player and Banker each have a 7 then the total would be 14. Since the last digit is 4, the final score for both hands would be 4. The score of 9 is known as a “Natural” and is the highest possible hand.
