Punto Banco is one of the popular casino games in Latvia, and its mobile version is playable in many mobile casinos in the country. Punto Banco is an entertaining card game that depends on luck rather than skill. In the game, two hands are dealt out: "punto" (player) and "banco" (banker). Generally, 8 decks of cards are used, but the exact number of decks depends on the casino's rules.
The goal of the game is to guess which hand (punto or banco) will win. Both the player and the bank can win or it can be a tie, and the player can bet on the punto, banco, or tie. The rules of the game are not complicated: each hand is dealt from two to three cards, and the hand that gets the closest to nine wins.
To start the game, bets are placed on one of three outcomes: punto, banco, or tie. Following the bets, two cards are dealt face up to the punto hand and two other cards to the banco hand. Depending on the cards, a third card might be dealt out. At the end of the round, the points of the punto and banco hands are compared, and the hand with the highest points wins. In the case of a tie, both the punto and banco bets are pushed back.
The winner is declared according to the following points system: Aces count as one point; two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and nine cards are worth their face values; ten and all face cards are worth zero points.
