Punto Banco is a popular game of chance that is available at many mobile casinos in Guatemala. The goal of the game is to bet on which of the two hands (Punto or Banco) will get the closest to the total of nine. Players must predict who will win or if it will result in a tie.
The game begins with the player placing a bet on either Punto or Banco. The player then receives two cards, as does the Bank. Both the player and the Bank receive two cards. The cards are assigned a numerical value, with face cards valued at 0, aces at 1, and other cards valued at the number printed on them. The total of the two cards for both the Player and Bank will determine the winner.
If the total of the two cards dealt to either the Player or the Bank is 8 or 9, it is an automatic win. This is known as a Natural. If not, then a third card may be drawn. The winner is determined by the total of the three cards, with the closest to 9 being declared the winner.
