Punto Banco, also known as Baccarat, is one of the most popular card games found in Greenland's mobile casinos. The aim of Punto Banco is to get as close to nine points as possible without going over. Although the dealer is responsible for carrying out the actual gameplay, the players still have the opportunity to make decisions on how to bet.
The game follows set rules as to who receives the first card and in what order. The game begins with the player and the dealer each receiving two cards. The value of the cards is determined by the numerical value of the card. All the face cards like the King, Queen and Jack are worth zero points, while the Ace is worth 1 point. All the cards from 2 to 9 keep their face value. The numerical value of the cards is crucial in determining the winner. The total value of the cards cannot exceed 9 -- should the value exceed 9, the tens digit is disregarded.
The player and the dealer are then expected to make decisions on whether to draw a third card or not. If the value of either the player's or the dealer's hand is 8 or 9, the game comes to an end with the hand with the higher value being the winner. On the other hand, a player with a value of 5 or less is expected to draw a card. The dealer's decision is determined by a set of predetermined rules namely the Punto Banco rules.
