Punto Banco is a popular casino game that is played with 8 decks of cards. In Punto Banco, players bet on the player (Punto), the banker (Banco) or a tie. The game begins when the dealer deals 4 cards: two to the Punto hand, two to the Banco hand. The cards are valued according to their face value (2 through 9), while 10s, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are all valued at zero. When the card values are added, only the last digit of the sum is counted as the card value. For example, if the values of two cards are 4 and 6, the total value is 10, and the card value is 0. If either or both hands have an 8 or 9, they have a "natural" and the game is over. If not, the player can request another card, which is called a "hit". The total value of the hands is compared and the winning hand is determined. The Punto hand wins if it is higher than the Banco hand, the Banco hand wins if it is higher than the Punto hand, or it is a tie if both hands are equal.
