Punto Banco is a popular variant of Baccarat that is popular among Cuban mobile casino players. The main objective of the game is to correctly guess which of the two hands - the player or banker - will obtain a total that is closest to nine. The game can be enjoyed at various mobile casinos in Cuba, each of which may have different versions of Punto Banco with slightly different rules. Generally speaking, all versions of the game follow the same basic rules.
At the start of the game, the players place their bets on either the player or the banker hand. The game requires at least two players, but it can also be enjoyed with multiple players at the same time. Once the bets are placed, the dealer then deals two cards to each hand. Cards in the game have different values, with Ace being worth one, while all face cards and 10s are worth zero. In order to determine the total of each hand, the cards' values are added, and if the total is two digits, then only the rightmost digit is considered.
Before the cards are dealt, the players can also choose to wager on a tie, which gives them a chance to win 8-1 odds. If the total of both the hands is the same, then the aforementioned bets on tie win. The game then continues until the values of the two hands are determined, and the player with the hand closest to nine wins.
