Playing Pai Gow in Venezuela is quite similar to its traditional counterpart, except that it is done in a virtual setting. The Pai Gow table can seat up to eight players, and just as in a regular casino, each player is dealt seven cards. Five of the seven cards form a poker hand, while the other two form a separate two-card hand.
The objective of the game is to try and beat the banker’s two hands with the player’s two hands. The player is typically the banker as well. The five-card hand is ranked according to standard poker hands, while the two-card hand ranks higher than a pair and lower than three of a kind. The hands are compared accordingly, with the banker taking the win if both the hands are higher ranked than the player's. If only one of the banker’s hands is higher, then it is considered a tie.
