Pai Gow is a two-player card game popular in Asian countries, such as China, Japan and Thailand. In Greenland, Pai Gow is often played in mobile casinos. The main goal of the game is to have a better hand than your opponent. It is played with 32 traditional domino tiles, which have two different ends with numerals from 1 to 6.
The first step in playing Pai Gow is to arrange your tiles into two hands, a five-tile hand and one two-tile hand. The five-tile hand is referred to as the “High”; the two-tile hand is referred to as the “Low.” After arranging your tiles, the dealer will then compare the player's hands against his own and decide who has the higher hand.
The combinations ranked according to strength are as follows. The Five of a Kind is the highest combination; the Straight is the second highest; the Flush is third; the Full House is fourth; the Four of a Kind is fifth; the Three of a Kind is sixth; the Two Pairs is seventh; and the One Pair is eighth. If two hands have the same combination, the higher ranking tiles will determine the winner.
The players must also be aware of the “House Way," which is the way the dealer arranges his tiles in a particular game. When playing with experienced players, the House Way is considered to be the best way to arrange your tiles. If the players cannot arrange their tiles in the House Way, the dealer can arrange them for them.
