Pai Gow is a popular gambling game in Egypt, commonly played in mobile casinos. It is played with a standard deck of fifty-two playing cards and a single joker. Players can choose to bet against a dealer or against other players.
To play, two hands are dealt to the player and the dealer. Each hand consists of two cards, with one card being the low or minor hand, and the other card being the high or major hand. All players must then decide whether to play their minor or major hand higher than the corresponding dealer hand.
When bet is placed, the dealer reveals their hands, so that all players can compare their hands to the dealer. If the player’s hand is higher, they win the bet. If the player’s hand is lower, they lose the bet. It’s also possible to tie with the dealer’s hand, which is called a “push.”
The Joker in Pai Gow can be used to substitute any card needed to complete a flush, a straight, or a straight flush. The Joker can also substitute for an Ace in a pair.
