Pai Gow is a traditional Chinese game played with a set of 32 dominoes. In Cyprus, the game has been adapted to the screen, offering players an enhanced version with digital tiles, improved game speed, and more features. Pai Gow in Cyprus follows a typical game pattern, with a few variations.
To start the game, the player needs to make a bet and receive four tiles. Once the tiles are dealt, the objective is to create two sets of two tiles: one with two tiles and the other with three tiles. According to the house rules, the two-tile set must be higher than the three-tile set. In case the player is unable to create a higher two-tile set, then they lose their bet.
The dealer can then compare their sets. If the dealer’s sets are higher than the player’s sets, the player loses. If the player's sets are higher, the player wins even money on the bet. If the sets of both the player and the dealer are equal in value, the result is a tie, and the bet remains on the table.
The game has an exciting bonus feature: the “envy bonus”. If a player holds a pair of tiles, and any of the other players at the table hold the same pair of tiles, then the player is rewarded with a bonus payout.
