Pai Gow is a casino game arising from ancient Chinese dominoes. The game has been adapted over the years to give a thrilling game that is popular among Bolivian players. The game is played with a set of 32 tiles, each with varying amounts of spots.
The objective of the game is to create two hands of two tiles each. These hands will be compared to the croupier's hands, and if the player's hands are stronger, they will win. The player and dealer will both attempt to create two separate hands: one with 5 tiles, and one with 2 tiles. The 5-tile hand must be higher ranking than the 2-tile hand. In the game of Pai Gow, the highest ranking hand is a pair of 9s.
The game progresses when the player places a bet and all hand combinations are revealed. The player's two-tile and five-tile hands are compared to the banker's two-tile and five-tile hands, respectively. If the player's hands are higher, they will win and their bet will be doubled. If the banker's hands are higher, the bet will be taken. In case of a tie, the banker wins.
