Mahjong, or 麻將, is an ancient Chinese gambling game that is now popular in many countries, including Myanmar. In Myanmar, the game is typically played with four players who create a cross of 16 tiles. The game starts with all the tiles being randomly placed face down on the table. The players then take turns to pick up and discard the tiles until someone creates a winning hand.
The rules of Mahjong in Myanmar are slightly different from those of the original Chinese game. For example, players can only claim the tiles that have already been discarded by another player, and there are some additional restrictions on the sequence of tiles that can be used. The traditional winning hands consists of four sets of three tiles, one pair, and a winning tile. In Burma, a player can also win if they can make two sequences of two tiles and a pair, or two sequences of three tiles and a pair.
