Mahjong is an ancient Chinese tile game, which is now widely available for play at mobile casinos in Lebanon. It is played with 144 tiles, arranged in four suits of 36 tiles each; bamboo, circles, characters, and winds. The object of the game is to form melds with the tiles in the suits and use them to create a winning hand. All four players at a Mahjong table will form hands, which are either completed with four melds and one pair, or formed without pairing, in which case they are called a "special hand."
The first player to form a hand calls out "Mahjong" to declare their victory. The rules of Mahjong in Lebanon have been adapted to suit the mobile casino environment. Every online game includes an automated random number generator (RNG) to produce random shuffles of the tiles. The tiles are not visible to the players and the game requires a discarding phase, where players discard tiles from their hand after each turn.
The scoring is calculated based on the points accumulated by the player and the opponents, who have formed the various combinations in the hand. The totals are then totaled and the winner receives the agreed-upon stake or wager.
