Mahjong is a classic game of strategy and skill that has been played in China and other parts of East Asia for centuries. The game uses 144 tiles arranged into different patterns. To win the game, players must make combinations of these tiles and use strategic tactics. The rules of Mahjong depend on the region, but the most popular version in Hong Kong is the Cantonese form of the game.
In Cantonese Mahjong, players are dealt 13 tiles each and must then try to form a winning hand of 14 tiles. Players must use their tiles to form a pair and/or three or four of a kind, as well as one or more ‘chows’ (a sequence of three tiles in the same suit). The game is complex and involves deep strategic thinking, as players must balance the value of their own hand and the risk of their opponents’ hands.
In the mobile version of Cantonese Mahjong, the rules remain the same. Players can play against other players online, or they can take part in games against the computer. The tiles appear in the same way as in a real-life game and the player’s hand is shown on the screen. The game can be played with up to four players.
