Mahjong is a popular Chinese game dating back to the 19th century, which is played with a set of 144 tiles. The game is played by four players, with each aiming to build complete suits of tiles according to certain rules. It is a game of skill, strategy and luck.
The rules of the game are fairly simple. Each player is dealt 13 tiles, and the goal is to complete a particular hand by creating sets of tiles. Every player is given a chance to draw four tiles from a pool of tiles; then they need to create sets such as chows (three consecutive numbers of the same suit), pungs (three tiles of the same number) and kongs (four tiles of the same number). The first player to complete their hand will then discard a tile. The player who can discard all their tiles will be declared the winner.
